What happens when my CD reaches maturity?

When your CD reaches maturity, the term ends and you’ll have the opportunity to withdraw your funds, renew the CD, or choose another savings option. Some CDs may automatically renew if no action is taken, so review your account disclosures or contact Extraco before your maturity date to understand your options. 

Can I withdraw money from my CD before it matures?

Yes, but CDs are designed for funds you can leave on deposit for the full term. If you withdraw funds before maturity, an early withdrawal penalty will/may be imposed on all CD terms.

How can I open up a CD with Extraco?

You can open a CD online, call 1.866.EXTRACO or visit your local Extraco branch to pick the best CD option for you. With the help of a relationship banker, you can also open an account and review your maturity options.

Are Extraco CDs FDIC insured?

Extraco Banks is Member FDIC, and CDs are deposit accounts covered by FDIC insurance up to applicable limits. The FDIC states that deposits are automatically insured to at least $250,000 per depositor, per FDIC-insured bank, per ownership category, and its coverage includes certificates of deposit.
